The “Survey On the Development of a Dietary-Inclusive Environment for Inbound Tourism: Effective Ways to Share Information” was published by the Chugoku Economic Federation, the Chugoku Regional Innovation Research Center, Chugoku Electric Power Co., Inc., and Chugoku Electric Power Transmission & Distribution Co., Inc.

The report covers basic information on diverse dietary needs, including vegan, vegetarian, and Muslim needs. It also explains national policy trends on inbound tourism and shares survey results on how tourism-related organizations in the Chugoku region provide information.

VegeProject Japan was featured as one example of an organization that shares information on diverse dietary needs. The survey about our organization was conducted through an interview with our representative director, Haruko Kawano. It introduces how our organization started, and our current activities. These include our vegan certification program and our support for vegan and vegetarian options through collaboration with local governments.

The report also covers information tools for vegan and vegetarian visitors. These include the print versions of Kyoto VegeMap and Tokyo VegeMap, both published by our organization, the online Japan VegeMap, and the Tokyo Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurant Guide, which our organization supervises.

The report also features Fukuoka City’s Food Universal Support Project, where our organization cooperated as an expert, and the Kansai Economic Federation’s Roundtable on Promoting Diverse Dietary Needs as reference examples.
