Tokyo Shimbun : The Evolution of Food Substitutes

On the 20th of February 2023, the Tokyo Shimbun newspaper, in its “Understanding the news from A to Z” series, published a special feature article on food substitutes.

Under the angles of health consciousness, sustainability, and food tech innovation, the article covers a wide range of information, from worldwide trends, to local businesses’ efforts to offer food substitutes.

It also introduces VegeProject’s vegan certification mark and some of the products which obtained it.

The food tech innovation part of the article also presents information on the cultured meat studies of Professor Takeuchi from the Graduate School of Tokyo University, who participated alongside VegeProject at the Tokyo University 2022 conference.

 

Nihon Gaishoku Shimbun : Special Feature on Plant-Based Food

On the 25th of February 2023, the Nihon Gaishoku Shimbun newspaper published a two-page spread special feature article on plant-based food.

It introduced “Vegan Bistro Jangara” and “2foods” as examples of businesses which offers “healthy and delicious” plant-based food to their customers.

It also introduced VegeProject’s VegeMap and its digital version which can be used to search for vegetarian and vegan restaurants in Japan.

NHK WORLD : Promoting Plant-Based Eating in Tokyo

As reported in January 2023, the NHK WORLD-JAPAN show “Cultural Crossroads” published a video-clip titled “Living the Plant-Based Life in Tokyo”.

It focuses on VegeProject’s vegan certification mark and some of the products which obtained it. Other VegeProject activities were shown briefly, although they could not be introduced fully.

The video-clip also features an interview with VegeProject representative Kawano.
