On January 25, 2024, the “Universal Taste of Japan Roundtable” was held at the headquarters of YRKand Co., Ltd. in Osaka City. This initiative was established by the Kansai Economic Federation with the goal of creating an environment that accommodates food diversity in preparation for the 2025 Osaka Kansai Expo, catering to vegetarians, vegans, Muslims, and those with allergies, among others.
As experts in vegetarian and vegan matters, VegeProject has been involved in this initiative since its inception and attended this meeting to further deepen exchanges with businesses responsible for Kansai’s tourism industry.
You can find a report on the first general meeting held at the time of the “Universal Taste of Japan Roundtable” establishment in December 2021 in this article.
At the venue, we introduced our organization’s activities and products suitable for vegetarian and vegan accommodations. We displayed vegan-labeled foods and copies of Tokyo VegeMap.
Food manufacturers, restaurant and accommodation operators, those involved in the tourism industry, and community developers showed great interest in our organization’s work to expand vegan and plant-based options.
VegeProject is committed to increasing the availability of vegan products and menus not only for vegetarians and vegans, but also as enjoyable options for those who typically consume meat and fish.
