On Sunday, 28th of August 2022, plant-based foods were introduced in the Yomiuri Newspaper.
First there was an interview with the creator of 2foods’ omelet-rice which does not contain any animal products. He explained how they combine ingredients derived from plants or how they use soy meat instead of chicken in their recipes.
Recently we can see the market trends move further towards vegetarian, vegan, and plant-based foods. In 2021, even the Consumer Affairs Agency issued its opinion regarding a plant-based label.
In the article, VegeProject’s representative Haruko Kawano was also interviewed. She commented on the movement of the plant-based foods market and she also encouraged the viewers to think what kinds of issues we can solve by adopting a plant-based diet.
