The 9th Organic Lifestyle EXPO EAST in Tokyo 2024 will be held from October 3rd to 5th. This is an event focusing on sustainable lifestyles open to both businesses and the general public.

VegeProject Japan will set up a vegan zone within the event that will gather multiple companies to showcase vegan products. At our booth we will also sell “Vegan Lucky Bags” for visitors to try a wide range of vegan-certified products for a small fee.

On the last day of the exhibition, we will hold a discussion between our representative Haruko Kawano and former House of Representatives member and social activist Keinin Horikoshi.

About VegeProject’s “Vegan & Plant-Based” Zone

This zone will gather various businesses handling vegan and plant-based products, including partners who have obtained our vegan certification.
We will introduce a variety of products, from vegan dumplings and gluten-free sweets to sauces, natural supplements, Sri Lankan vegan products, and products made with BEYOND MEAT from the USA.

We welcome both buyers interested in vegan and plant-based products and the general public who want to enjoy the tastings and shopping in the area.

Talk Event: Shaping a Kinder Future for People, Animals, and the Planet

On the last day of the exhibition, Saturday, October 5th, from 1:00 PM, our representative, Haruko Kawano, will have a discussion with former House of Representatives member Keinin Horikoshi, currently engaging as a social activist.
In this discussion, they will talk about what companies, governments, and individuals can do to create a future that is kind to people, animals, and the planet. Both industry professionals and the general public are welcome to attend.

Speakers:
・Former House of Representatives Member, Social Activist / Keinin Horikoshi
Horikoshi has participated in six national elections and served four years as a member of the House of Representatives, implementing policies to support vulnerable people and animals. Alongside his political career, he is an active social activist, delivering over 200 lectures annually and communicating on topics like education, environmental issues, and animal welfare in an accessible way through social media.

・NPO VegeProject Japan Representative Director / Haruko Kawano
Kawano began her career as an activist by introducing vegan menus to the cafeteria at Kyoto University in 2013. Since then, and for over 10 years, she has promoted vegan and plant-based options and provided guidance to businesses and institutions in Japan. She also serves as consultant for vegan initiatives led by local governments and national agencies, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
