On Sunday, October 13, 2024, VegeProject Japan participated in the “Fukushi Tsunagari Festa 2024,” hosted by the Taito City Council of Social Welfare.

VegeProject Japan has a close relationship with Taito City, having previously had our representative, Haruko Kawano, speak about vegetarianism and veganism at city-hosted seminars and helped establish a permanent vegan-certified menu at the Taito City Hall cafeteria. This connection led to our invitation to this year’s event.

This event featured around 30 booths, mainly by welfare-related organizations in Taito City, aiming to deepen mutual understanding and enrich the concept of a cohesive community through interactions among attendees and organizations. This year, in addition to welfare, “disaster prevention” was also a theme, with special booths introducing emergency foods and supplies.

At the venue, there was a “stamp rally” where visitors could collect stickers by visiting various booths and participating in quizzes and games, earning a prize upon completion. Our booth attracted visitors of different ages and nationalities who came to collect stickers. We organized quizzes related to vegan lifestyles.

We hope this event and our quiz helped increase interest in veganism and inspired attendees to consider the environment and animals in their daily meals.

In addition, VegeProject Japan offered vegan-certified products for sale and distributed copies of the Tokyo VegeMap. We enjoyed engaging with families who came specifically to purchase our products, and many visitors eagerly explored the Tokyo VegeMap, with some taking extra copies for friends. It was a meaningful opportunity for interaction with many visitors, as well as other organizations and companies.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the event organizers, the Taito City Council of Social Welfare, the participating organizations who connected with us, and everyone who visited our booth.
