Nippon TV’s ‘news every.’ introduces Taito City Hall dining hall’s vegan menu!
Taito City Hall’s dining hall, Chikushoku Sakura’s is in the media buzz for its two vegan options: Vegetable Keema Curry and Vegetable Tempura Udon. Both have VegeProject‘s vegan certification, the mark for which is also featured on the menu.
The Keema Curry is packed with soy meat protein and vegetables, making it a filling dish. The Tempura Udon has a plant-based dashi sauce and is topped with veggie tempura.
Sale of Vegan Products
The Taito City Hall dining hall doesn’t just have vegan menu options–they have also started selling the vegan certified Keema Curry packet.
This Keema Curry was used at the dining halls at the Shinjuku City Hall and Kitaku City Hall in April for their Spring Vegetable Fair, as well as the World Environment Day initiative in June.
Taito City Vegan and Vegetarian Certification Government Assistance
Starting this year, Taito City will be providing financial assistance regarding vegan and vegetarian certifications, in addition to Halal certifications.
Restaurants currently providing vegan and vegetarian options, as well as restaurants hoping to start such options, are encouraged to participate. With this program, restaurants will not have to pay for the certifications.
Those interested should contact the Taito City Hall’s tourism department, or contact VegeProject.
Let’s create vegetarian and vegan options together!
