Vegan booth at Health & Wellness Japan 2026 (VegeProject Zone)

Health & Wellness Japan 2026, one of the largest business trade shows in Japan for the health and wellness sector, was held at Tokyo Big Sight from February 25 to 27.

At this exhibition, our organization, VegeProject Japan, once again coordinated the VegeProject Zone, an area dedicated to vegan and plant-based products. On the first day, we held a business seminar on vegan and plant-based business, followed by a panel discussion with exhibitors from the area after a lecture by our representative, Haruko Kawano.

Over the course of the three days, many exchanges and business meetings took place with visitors, allowing us to witness the expansion of the vegan market.

At the VegeProject Zone, 14 companies certified under our vegan certification, along with our organization, exhibited booths to introduce their products and initiatives.

On the first day, we held the business seminar “A Promising Market at the Intersection of Health and Sustainability: Three Key Elements for Succeeding in the Vegan and Plant-Based Market”.

In the first half of the lecture, our representative presented an overview of the future outlook for the vegan and plant-based field, organizing the latest domestic and international trends with concrete examples. In Japan, she explained that a pioneering mindset in opening up the market can lead to stronger competitiveness. She also showed that the main purchasers and users are not limited to vegans and vegetarians, but are expanding to a broader audience driven by health consciousness, environmental considerations. She pointed to the need for stakeholders themselves to become more closely attuned to vegan products, and an approach to understand customer targets.

Next, seven of the exhibiting companies in the VegeProject Zone took the stage in two parts for a panel discussion. In addition to the background of their initiatives and the features of their products, each company shared how they approach the vegan and plant-based market and their thoughts on it.

In holding the VegeProject Zone, we would like to thank all the exhibiting companies, the businesses that joined the panel discussion, the event secretariat who worked hard to set up the zone, and the many businesses who stopped by the booths and seminar.

We will continue working in collaboration with stakeholders to help expand the vegan and plant-based market.
