On July 30, 2024, “Diversity Diner HND”, a restaurant directly managed by the Haneda airport, will open in the Edo Koji area on the 4th floor of the pre-departure area in Haneda Airport’s Terminal 3, having acquired VegeProject Japan’s vegan certification before the launch.

“Diversity Diner HND” restaurant will feature a fully-vegan menu supervised by Saido, a restaurant in Jiyugaoka which ranked number one on the vegetarian and vegan restaurant app HappyCow back in 2019.

The menu is also free of the root vegetables which, such as onions or garlic, are avoided by “oriental vegetarians”, visiting mostly from Taiwan and China.

The dishes are familiar Japanese meals, including kitsune udon, curry udon, tendon, tempura soba, onigiri, and karaage. Head chef Takuro Ogawa, who has experience serving customers worldwide, brings his expertise to create vegan versions of these dishes, which typically use animal-derived ingredients.
