The Hiroshima Convention & Visitors Bureau supports restaurants, accommodation providers, and other local businesses in offering vegetarian and vegan options, with the goal of improving satisfaction among vegetarian and vegan visitors to Hiroshima. The bureau is also working to build broader momentum in Hiroshima around catering to vegetarian and vegan food needs.
This seminar consists of a lecture session and a tasting and networking session. During the lecture, the President of VegeProject Japan will speak with the aim of helping local businesses deepen their understanding of vegetarian and vegan food needs, and provide practical advice on how to put that understanding into practice. The talk will cover topics such as why vegan menus are relevant, common points of confusion, and how to get started without overextending, explained with concrete examples.
In the tasting and networking session, participants can enjoy a one-plate meal from miobyDoTS, a restaurant that already offers vegan options, while getting to know and connect with other attendees. The following vegan dishes are planned:
・Chickpea hummus with root vegetable chips
・Kale and quinoa herb salad with cashew nuts
・Cauliflower fritters with dukkah spice
・Sprouted brown rice vegetable soup
We hope you will join us and take this opportunity to deepen your understanding of vegetarian and vegan food needs.
