The event will offer a variety of programs related to academics, culture, social contribution, and others.

This year’s Homecoming Day will include a variety of vegan and plant-based fare, such as the vegan menu project in the university cafeteria, and vegan certified snacks.

Free gifts with cafeteria vegan menu purchases, limited edition foods, and more!

The University of Tokyo cafeteria began offering vegan options last year. In creating the university vegan menu, VegeProject Japan cooperated with cafeteria staff and students, introducing menu items and businesses, and holding tasting events. The vegan menu items are marked with our vegan certification mark.

On this year’s Homecoming Day, there will be activities to promote the vegan menus at the cafeteria. For example, visitors can receive free vegetable seeds with the purchase of vegan menu items. Sale of a limited-time vegan menu is also scheduled. These events will be organized by the Green Transformation Student Network (GXSN), a student group at the University of Tokyo focused on creating a sustainable future.

Other items available for sale at the event include keema curry sauce and omelet rice made with soy meat, as well as soy meat ham cutlets and fried chicken skewers.
